"China Painting" or painting on porcelain was very popular as a hobby during the mid-20th century. My grandmother embraced this and painted countless works. When she passed, I inherited her stash of supplies, and as an artist became interested in learning this dying art form. I was lucky enough to find Vicky York, a Master Porcelain Artist and Teacher and studied with her for almost 10 years. From her, I learned not only the difficult skill of painting on a slick glass surface, but also the tricky art of using a kiln to fire my works. Most of these works you see in this gallery were painted under her tutelage. My style and skill has continued to grow, and upon looking at this gallery, I can definitely see that growth.!
Some of the porcelain in this gallery are available for purchase. Please contact me directly for more information. Thank you !
